Nursing Services

Our Private Duty Nurses are trained to offer services to patients of all ages in various time frames to restore patients’ independence with active and safe lives. Our nurses are licensed practical nurses or registered nurses.

Our nurses provide services to patients that need in-home monitoring, those who require adjustments to treatment regimens often, and patients with medical conditions that require frequent assessments and care plan changes.

The services that our private duty nurses provide include, but are not limited to, the following: traumatic brain injury care, diabetes care, medication and insulin administration, medication setup, catheterization, wound care, tube feedings, tracheotomy care, catastrophic injury care, pulmonary injury care, ventilator care, spinal cord injury care, seizure disorder care, and monitoring the medical status changes of patients.

Personal Care Assisting

Our Personal Care Assistant (PCA) works as part of a team to help ill, weak or elderly clients with their personal needs. We provide our clients with compassionate, considerate assistance with hygiene, exercise, medication, and communication.

Our PCAs help patients recovering from major surgery, a debilitating illness, or mental or physical disabilities. PCA helps with laundry, cleaning clients’ bed linens and clothes, as well as replacing dirty ones with clean ones. Bathing and dressing are usually part of the PCA’s job duties as well.

Some other services provided by our PCA includes physical therapy-type help for bedridden or wheelchair-bound patients, assisting clients with walking or stretching exercise, and many much more.

Homemaking

LongLife Home Care LLC has Homemaking Services for our home care clients. Sometimes referred to as housekeepers, Homemakers can provide more personal and home care than family and friends can provide at times.

Our homemakers may work with a client after discharge from a hospital or on a long-term basis. Homemakers provide general housekeeping and work to keep the home environment clean and healthy.

These services include  vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, laundry, changing bed linens, meal planning in accordance with dietary needs, food shopping, cooking, and client errands.

Companion

LongLife Home Care LLC’s Companions are friends who come to spend some quality time with you, whether you want to watch movies, play games, or engage in stimulating conversations.

Our companion ensures that you feel socially and actively connected to others on a day-to-day basis. To us, mental and spiritual sharpness are just as important as your physical health.

Ask us how we can be beneficial advocates for your patient!

LongLife Home Care LLC is, like you, dedicated to our patients’ well-being. We strive to keep our clients at home by reducing their incidence of readmission to the hospital or a skilled nursing facility. LongLife Home Care LLC is continually educating our employees as well as motivating them to do the same with our patients.

Our number one shared goal is to achieve better outcomes at home and reduce the incidence of re-hospitalizations. The care professionals at LongLife Home Care LLC, like primary care doctors, focus on the patient’s needs. We prepare our employees to give full attention to all of our clients’ needs. Whether that need is simple companionship, help with daily acts of living, disease education or skilled nursing, LongLife Home Care LLC employees have the knowledge and willingness to help our clients.
Home health care is the fastest-growing expense in government-funded programs and private insurance because of the aging population, the increasing prevalence of chronic disease, and increasing hospital costs. Patients and families are choosing the option of home care more frequently. Social workers and public health nurses play a vital role in the mental, social and physical health of their clients. We at LongLife Home Care LLC understand that fact and work hard to keep an open line of communication between all aspects of the client’s welfare management team. Ask us how we can help ensure the safety and welfare of your client.
LongLife Home Care LLC will happily work with you or your embassy or consulate to authorize the services we provide. Please call our billing specialist to make arrangements.

Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality health care services, making us a trusted choice for those seeking reliable care. By focusing on comprehensive health care that enhances well-being, we’ve become leaders in the community. At LongLife Home Care LLC, your health care needs are always our top priority.

Does LongLife Home Care have a current operating license in Rhode Island?

Yes! LongLife Home Care LLC. is registered and enrolled in the Rhode Island Health Care Program Providers (MHCP) and currently holds a Class A license.

How is a plan of care constructed?
LongLife Home Care LLC will work with everyone involved in your team of healthcare providers. We go above and beyond to ensure you and your loved ones have an adequate plan of care to meet all your home health care needs. Significant team members may include, but are not limited to, a primary care doctor, a health nurse or a social worker. More importantly, we make great strides to meet the needs of YOU, the client, first.
Are there any home visits or assessments that take place prior to home health care services beginning?
Yes. Prior to receiving the services, one of the skilled registered nurses will visit your home to conduct an assessment of your needs and inform you of what your plan of care will include. Rest assured that you will be fully informed of what services Global Home Health Care Inc. will provide for you.
How long must I wait once I’ve placed my request for care before a caregiver actually begins?
LongLife Home Care LLC strives to make our response immediate; however, based on the type and amount of services you require, it may entail more than a day. Every client is unique in their needs. We understand this actuality so we have caring office staff to help you at every step to make your transition to home care smooth and efficient.
Do I need to sign a contract with your agency?
Yes. We require a signed contract only to ensure that your plan of care is very clear to you; this way, together, we can confirm that we both understand clearly what is expected from each of us. However, you are not locked into anything, and you can cancel services at any time.
Does LongLife Home Care LLC provide training for the person who will be providing service to me in my home?
Yes. Our license and the Departments of Health and Human Services require our PCAs to have 10–12 hours of yearly continuing education. Because we want to have high standards for our employees, we at LongLife Home Care LLC require 12 hours (renewed yearly) of continued education for anybody working with our clients. In addition, all licensed skilled nurses are required to complete yearly continuing education to keep their license current.
Can my PCA’s responsibilities extend outside of the house?
Yes. Longlife PCAs are dedicated to giving you the support you need, whether that’s inside or outside of your home. Our PCAs will assist with anything ranging from transportation to running errands and the like.
Does LongLife Home Care LLC reimburse clients or employees for gas mileage?
No; caregivers and clients are responsible for their own car expenses.
What is LongLife’s protocol in case there is an emergency?

For each client, our nurse administrator creates a comprehensive, individual-specific plan of care document for the assigned skilled nurses and PCAs. We maintain the highest standard of service by doing this. In addition, all LongLife Home Care LLC. skilled nurses and PCAs are trained in emergency preparedness to deftly deal with any complications that may arise. The number of the office’s after-hours phone is 401-699-1196.

What steps do I take if my PCA or skilled nurse is a no-call or no-show?

Please call the office (401-251-2166 or 401-240-4415) or the emergency number for office hours after 5 p.m. M-F and weekends. The PCA or nurse will be contacted by LongLife Home Care LLC. If the assigned person is not available, another qualified employee will come to complete your services.

Can I decide who my PCA is?
Yes. In most cases, our office staff will assign the PCA that best fits you and your needs, but if you do not find it agreeable, we will most certainly accommodate your requests. You are welcome to bring your own staff to work with you through our agency.
How do I know if PCA services are appropriate for me?
Please contact your private insurance company or the county you live in to make an appointment to assess your needs. They may then contact your primary physician to discuss whether PCA services would be beneficial for you. If PCA services are determined appropriate, you can suggest a referral to our agency for an initial assessment.
What or who determines the number of services I would receive?
The time and type of service are determined by the consideration of your needs by your primary medical physician and your insurance coverage. More importantly, at LongLife Home Care LLC, Inc., PCA and skilled nursing services are client-driven, which means that LongLife Home Care LLC only charges for the precise time our PCAs or nurses are giving you 1-on-1 support.
Who should I contact to find out if services have been approved and for how many hours?
You should contact your county coordinator or primary care physician. Once services have been authorized, you can then get in touch with our billing manager to find available hours that work for you and our staff.
Why is an RN's monthly visit necessary for me if I only have PCA services?
It is a state requirement to ensure the PCAs are providing the care essential to keeping you in the home safely.
Does LongLife Home Care LLC have licensed nurses, such as RNs, to help with medical tasks at home?
Yes! LongLife has experienced RNs and LPNs on staff to not only administer assessments but to train our PCA team to complete standard and specific tasks for you. However, PCA cannot provide explicit medical care such as injections or administer an emergency medical response; therefore, our nurses are very important to us and you as our clients.
How can LongLife Home Care LLC assure me of my safety and security when a skilled nurse or PCA comes into my home?
Before LongLife Home Care hires a skilled nurse, or PCA, we go through an extensive vetting process to ensure that a potential new hire aligns with our values and appreciation for cultural diversity. Furthermore, all skilled nurses and PCAs are required to comply with a background check, so you can be assured that anyone Global Home Health Care, Inc., employs is of sound judgment and moral character.
Can I have someone from LongLife Home Care LLC travel with me?
Yes! We provide personal care assistants and skilled nursing (depending on the level of care required) to give you the confidence that you require while you travel. You only need to call our office to set up the travel arrangements.
Will an employee of LongLife Home Care LLC. go with me on a shopping trip?
Yes. Rest assured that we want to help you live a full and happy life. Whether you need a personal care assistant, a skilled nurse or just a companion for a day excursion or a week-long trip, all you need to do is call the office to make arrangements to do this.
Can I have someone from LongLife Home Care LLC do my grocery shopping, pick up dry cleaning, help me plan an event, etc.?
Yes. We understand that sometimes, because of your level of health or lack of time, you may not be able to accomplish the daily errands, etc., that help you maintain your independence. We are at your service to help you accomplish these tasks. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your requests.
Will LongLife Home Care LLC come to my hotel to provide services?
Yes. Rest assured that we want to help you live a full and happy life. Whether you need a personal care assistant, a skilled nurse or just a companion for a day excursion or a week-long trip, all you need to do is call the office to make arrangements to do this.
Can I have someone accompany me to my doctor appointments, as well as schedule my future appointments?
Yes! Whether you are coming for the first time or if you just need help navigating through the corridors or endless doctor visits, let us help.
Can I have a skilled nurse or a PCA accompany me and my family on a day trip?
Yes! We understand that sometimes you just want to get away with your family for the day, but family members are unsure if they are able to assist you with your medical needs. We are here for you; let us help you and your family so you may have some fun or much-needed time away!
If I am away from my home for a period of time, can I have LongLife Home Care LLC check on my house, gather my mail and inform me of any important details?

Yes! If you live in the Rochester or Winona area and have to be hospitalized or away from your residence for a short period of time, you may worry about your house while away. Let us help you recover or travel with one less thing to worry about! Simply call one of our offices at 401-251-2166 or 401-240-4415 to set up the services you may require while away.
